Such an underrated show in my opinion. The fact that it has a 5 rating (which I agree with in certain terms) makes me sad, and the fact that almost no one watched it makes me sad as well. Was this show an amazing show which doesn't deserve the score at all? I would so about 20% no, the other 80% says Yes. The series is legit just dumb fun. It makes meta jokes and constant dirty humor. However I think the show accomplished what it set out to do. To be just plain stupid. Honestly the about of screenshots of the dumb shit the characterssay in the show is way to much. Honestly this might just not be your kind of humor and you just might find it annoying, weird, and say to yourself wtf is this then I don't blame you. However I do think this series is something worth giving a try and seeing if you might like it or not, because I tried it and I loved it.

I'm so frustrated with this show because it was on the cusp of something I think could have been witty. It verges on being a deconstruction of Bakabon as a show, but then it just sort of isn't; it likes to make 4th wall break jokes and reference humor without actually having any sort of payoff or real point. It's frustrating, though; there's some actual decent commentary, done in an entertaining way: the pointless excessiveness of presentations, the soullessness of live-action adaptations, the broken logic of microtransactions, etc. These are good bits of commentary that legitimately made me laugh, but unfortunately, that does not takeup the bulk of the anime's content. Even some of the pop culture references are funny; I think it's impressive that they actually got characters like Black Jack and Hello Kitty to show up, and the fact they were able to actually get these characters in the show is so impressive it can sort of make you laugh, same with huge celebrities like Hiroshi Kamiya. Unfortunately, the show doesn't know how to make most of those jokes witty or relevant the majority of the time. I've been on a Bakabon binge for about a year now, watched them in chronological order, and this was the final entry in the whole series, and what an absolutely disappointing way to end my run of the series. I really, really like Bakabon, and this was significantly worse than every other series. I don't know what the appeal is in making the show so much more vulgar, same way with Osomatsu. But it's obnoxious and unfunny and changes the characters in weird ways. Omawari-san is the worst of these. He's so annoying and basically acts like an annoying crybaby for the whole show and entire segmentS. I need to emphasize MULTIPLE segments where the entire joke is "I don't like being the side-character, let me have more attention," and/or he wants to get with women. It wasn't funny the first time, and it wasn't funny the 12th time either. Sure, he was loud and crazy in the original series, but he wasn't SO obnoxious, and he was more involved with plots other than he isn't in the plot enough. There are a couple of moments where I could see some potential; the 11th episode is one of the better episodes because it had an actual plot and took references from the manga to form an actual narrative story around it. Every iteration of Bakabon has simply been adapting manga chapters, so I've seen the same chapters adapted 3-4 times. I get wanting to change it up, but they could have taken a bit more inspiration from the manga, something for fans to gleam a bit more from... I can't recommend this anime as a newcomer or an old fan; it's just not a good anime. It struggles to be entertaining and doesn't understand the concept of narrative pacing at all. I'm so sorry, fellow Bakabon fans; this is disappointing trash...
