Synopsis

When Ha Eun takes shelter from a sudden downpour, she runs into someone she recognizes as her classmate. She greets him but is met by a cold shoulder, his curt replies shutting down her other attempts at conversing with him. When the awning above Ha Eun tears apart, she takes cover under the boy's umbrella and accidentally hugs him. Abashed and still annoyed, Ha Eun apologizes as the boy boards his bus. As luck may have it, the two meet again when Ha Eun's university friend, Yeo Reum, invites both of them for dinner. The classmate is introduced as Yeon Woo and turns out to be Yeo Reum's childhood friend. After several drinks, another friend of Yeo Reum escorts him back home, leaving Ha Eun and Yeon Woo alone. The two share an intimate moment devoid of words. Will this be the first of many? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Short & super cute Korean animated trilogy you can finish in about 90 minutes. It was as if K-drama was animated — tropey and predictable, yet wholesome at the same time. I'll be rating the whole series in this review. I suggest you watch the series in canonical order for maximum enjoyment: A day before us Zero Episodes 1-18 (prequel) A day before us season 1 A day before us season 2 A day before us Zero episode 19 (epilogue) Story: 7/10 Really not much to go off of sinceeach episode is 2-3 minutes long, but you can get a sense of what's going on pretty quickly. Pacing is quite good, and each episode builds well on each other. Art: 8/10 The distinct art style and bright visuals added to the cheery vibes of each episode. Dramatic moments were captured well, and comedic moments likewise. Sound: 7/10 The Korean songs were a nice touch to the end of each episode. Voice acting is done in Korean, and sometimes it felt like the voice actor was too close to the mic, but okay voice acting nonetheless. Character: 6/10 These characters are what you would consider your ordinary romance protagonists — nothing spectacular but nothing lousy either. I think they could've done a little better job tying some loose ends at the end of the series, but solid character development otherwise. Overall enjoyment: 7.5/10 My romance and slice-of-life junkie enjoyed this one. Recommend this one for anyone who wants an easy watch; sit back and drown in the wholesomeness.

Considering how short the episodes were, I was honestly surprised by how quickly the story pulled me in. Even with such a simple format, I found myself completely involved and emotionally invested from the very beginning. I really liked it. Even more than I expected, actually. I usually tend to give extreme ratings like 100/10 or even -/10 when something hits me in a certain way, but this time it wasn’t about exaggeration or dramatic reactions. It was just genuinely good, sweet, and enjoyable in its own quiet way. So the most accurate rating I can give is a solid, honest 10/10.
